about

Be warned; contains bagpipes!
It's not "traditional" folk music though, it's a unique mix of electronic dance, rock, classical and folk.

Writing credits

I’d particularly like to thank Simon Rowley, David Watts and Charlotte Gibson for their creative input into this album. Simo, Dave and Charlotte played many gigs with me in the “Mark Saul Band” and much of the material for this album was written and recorded while on tour. Their musical skills have been the foundation for this collaborative project and their contribution is significant.

All guitar parts are written and performed by Simon Rowley (apart from track 7).
All bass guitar parts are written and performed by David Watts.
All melodies for bagpipe, whistle, flute, violin, cello, vocals, brass, synthesiser are written by Mark Saul.

I’d like to thank Charlotte Gibson for playing the fiddle on all tracks on this album (apart from track 7), and credit her for writing and performing the “string quartet” that finishes track 3 (Gordon’s Reel) - a great contribution! Charlotte’s Gordon’s Reel “quartet” then formed the basis upon which I built track 8 (Threnody). Thanks Charlotte!

Recorded, mixed and engineered by Mark Saul.

about

Mark Saul Melbourne, Australia

I'm a composer of music that doesn't fit neatly into any genre; it's electronic, it's rock, it's EDM, it's Celtic folk, it's classical, it's what I like! Hopefully you like it too!
